My Fears Coming Alive
Relaxing in the warm pool water with my family
talking and thinking about our summer family vacation
as my two of my brothers begin to grill steaks in the shed,
seeing the gigantic dark clouds drifting closer and closer.
As the clouds intensify, we jump out of the water.
rushing to get all the floaties inside,
we struggle to finish before the storm.
When done, I head to the shower
rinsing off my body as my dad says the clouds are becoming dark.
I hop out of the shower as my mom jumps in.
Suddenly, my dad yells as loud as possible,
“Get to the basement now!” I grab my towel.
Sprinting, pushing, and shoving,
my family members rush to the stairs
after hearing the loud “CRACK!”
When we get to the basement, something is not right
“The roof is gone, I know it” Dad says.
Franticly realizing my brothers are still in the shed.
Fear shows until we can finally talk with them
Intelligently; they chose to crouch under the tractor
Safely meeting after the storm,
shocked to see the damage done to the house,
the cleaning process begins.
After continual cleaning for two months
my house is back to normal,
kind of.

Over this summer, my family experienced a loss of our roof. The straight line winds came so fast that we didn't even know what was happening. It was an obstacle that we had to overcome, but after two months we were able to move back into our house.
