Torn
Can you feel it? Can you see it? Can you acknowledge it? Can you devote to it? Can you rise up to it? Can you receive it? But most of all can you obtain and permit it to be given by you. That’s a lot of can yous.
Love is what we most fear. I fear to be loved. You fear to be loved. We all fear being loved, And that fear was wrapped around her heart holding it hostage.
But it’s crazy love is what she craved most.
To love is to show weakness and to show weakness is to be vulnerable
And vulnerability leads to being hurt. But can you blame her.
The promise was made by you
Broken by you
But did you care?
You didn't care because she was hurt before so it wouldn’t hurt so bad this time right?
You loved her but not enough to let her heart rest at ease.
You loved her but only enough to make sure it hurt.
You loved her just enough to make her cry.
And yes she did cry and you watched as that one tear fell from her eyes and sliped down her cheek and with it fell her last bit of hope.
Hope that you provided to helped build her up
And revive her from her past
In which she drowned in and you saved her from
But you loved her? So in looking into her eyes took a deep breath and threw her back to drown again
Again…….
And the worst betrayal that can be done is letting the words
I…LOVE...YOU
Slip from in between your lips because that was a promise all in itself
Did you love her?
And you did so why did you let her go why did you let her slip why did you let her break again
Because to you she was your everything just like you were hers
You could feel her pain
And it tore you limb from limb to see her cry
To know that this is what she would remember you by
So Why
Why’d you let go
And the answer to your question was because you loved her…..you loved her to the limit of no return you loved her enough to think you weren’t enough
Not knowing you were all she needed
So you didn't hurt her in the intention of destroying her
But Because you loved her enough to know you
Had to let her go
