The Loneliest Prisons

Freedom is an illusion.
To break free from the shackles of order,
we must intuitively act.
We cannot live in the prisons of our hearts.
Gluttony is revered.
Sex, lies, and scandal glorified with gold,
so we seek the apple.
We cannot live in the prisons of our hearts.
Ideas are always judged.
innovation swiftly quelled,
As we are brought to justice.
We cannot live in the prisons of our hearts.
And in our hearts, He yearns for peace.
And in our hearts, He mourns for our loss.
We cannot live in the prisons of our hearts,
for they are the hardest to escape from.
