Chocolate feels liquidy

Moist brown sloshing against vividly

It produces a sweet taste

Its stickiness leaves no waste

It’s as if slabs of wood are cut out

Horizontally; then coated with mud like trout

On the stove, chocolate melts

Into wet, brown droplets; having felt

The thick, surrounding sides of the pan

Combined with smoky heat blowing like a fan

My dog’s fur is, of course, chocolate-colored

The sun shining against it; warmed and smothered

With light

Chocolate drapes across your memory

Its taste, its texture; converted into sensory
