True Colors
A lot of the time I am a pale sky blue,
Neutral, gentle, minding my own business,
Flying under the radar, going unnoticed,
More or less happy, content and relaxed.
But the second I lace up those shoes,
I’m fluorescent red, aggressive and motivated,
I am competitive, determined, and confident,
The fiery personality comes out and shows.
Sometimes I wish I could change my colors,
To be something else, step away from what I am,
But I know, deep down, that I need to be like this,
Because if not, then I wouldn’t have any identity.
