Ode To My Blade
My knife pleasures leads to hard tissues and shiny skin
My blade tangos to heavy metal
Taping edges in quick rips to flesh below
Leaving the steps to review
My razor recycles, repurposed, renewed.
My sharpener is environmentally conscious.
It refuses to be thrown away.
Plays hide and seek with me.
Hides away from everyone but me
Metal friend, silver partner, ready or not, here I come,
Slicer comfort lodges in my heart
Silver ridge dices, cuts, plays at flaying
But our bond is never touched
My sweet edge is a piece of shattered mirrors
Reflecting the truth, situations turned chemicals--
It’s hurting me, helping me, killing me, saving me,
Savior let your ridge slide!
Dispel these arguing dopamine minds
These poisoned voices calling me
I’m in love with my blade’s serenade
An aubade you’ll never hear--
I hope.
