Sing In Me, Muse
Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story
Of the young man who never learned
That being perfect was not always the answer,
Who put off his work for days on end but
Knew to complete the work in order to pass
And suffered in pain. Within his mind is
A heavy yearning for above average grades for
The school year, contributing to his success
And meaning in life. However, he could not
Get his brain straight, even when he wanted to
Do his work, he had the wrong mindset, thinking
That every answer had to be correct,
And neglecting what his teachers had told him.
Tell the tale for us, beginning with the
Start of his second semester, sometime
After the days of break, when he was seeking
To break the tightly-bound chains of eternal failure.
He alone, had to battle the cruel monster
Of procrastination, or he would be swallowed
By a quick-swallowing void that he created
That yearned for perfection.
