Lying Truths
If you look up into the galaxy
The stars that dance for you
They want you to see them
Not as stars
But as the balls of fires they could’ve been.
Now, open your hand.
Can you see the miles of dreamers
Who believed they stood taller than the mountains?
Can you feel the spirits of the adventurers
The quests that led them to treasure
And the ones that gave them beautiful curses?
Okay, close your eyes.
I do not want you to see the world through the wind
Or hear the sounds that pound against your drums.
I want you to remain still,
And wonder how it felt to be honest.
I want you to remember the secrets you kept from yourself
I want you to bring up your suppressed glee, your vibrant sadness,
Your soul
Up to the surface.
Can you guess what I want you to do next?
I want you to let it all free.

Sometimes it isn't our dreams and emotions that are holding us back, but it is us holding them still.
