A Perfect Day
The cool mornings breeze blows by my ear,
as I sit outside by the Yellowstone river.
The rough grains of sand stick to my feet,
as I watch the brilliant colors of the sunrise.
Shining, glowing, and enhancing,
The sky.
I close my eyes and open them,
To the green blue murkey choppy waving in the river,
Angrily Slamming into the shore.
I close my eyes and open them,
To your chocolate brown curly hair blowing in the wind.
You bind your fingers in mine,
And pull me into an embrace.
My nose tingles from the musky deep smell of cologne you use.
Your eyes looked as though they were filled with oceans,
Ready for me to get lost.
We laid there on the gritty sand,
Like the touch of a cat's tongue.
I start to speak,
But am stopped by you placing your finger over my lips.
Salt.
The salty taste of your skin lingers on my tongue.
The thump,thump,thump.
I can feel the vibrations,
coming from your heart,
That you wear on your sleeve.
The wind howled,all around us,
But there we stayed to discuss,
How beautiful that sunrise was.
