Middle school

People circle like vultures,

If you slip they devour you whole,

Leave you with no trace

The higher you go the easier it is

To slip off the edge,

And tumble down the ladder,

Only to have to climb back up again

Over and over

Why do we do this to ourselves?

Why don't we just jump?

Jump out, spread your wings

Be different

For once...

The author's comments:

I am often someone who steps back and takes a good look at enviroments around us. One of these environments that I am heavily exposed to is school. I've noticed that most people will try over and over again and they just don't get that the higher they go the farther the fall is. I wrote this poem to symbolize my observations.
