the nothingness that awoke her
the nothingness that awoke me was a flash of light
in my brain, i could feel the light
not see, not hear, but feel
she never got her feelings out
she never got the help she needed
because she never learned to speak
she never learned to love
because of the hearts they shatter and glitz
trapped in the cellar
locked in a cage
away from the real world
away from it all
black, empty darkness
to fill the empty void in my skin
is what awoke me

it's about an awakening, an urge to be free, an urge for freedom. as an artist and feminist, i crave that.
