Forgiveness For Your Ways
There were so many things that I never understood
From your two faced personality to all your falsehoods.
For years I’ve refused to believe there was that side,
the side of you that I was warned about, but I always denied.
I was told “Don’t do it!”, but like Pandora, I didn’t listen.
Now I’ve realized that I regret my decision.
If I ever loved you, I’ll always love you
That’s how I was raised.
I grew tired of being one of Andy’s toys,
Acting lifeless as you played me to fulfill your self joy.
All the times that I defended you.
All the times that I fought for you.
All the times that I accompanied you,
was just time I wasted while waiting for a change.
I don’t know how much longer I could keep playing your games,
So I give up ‘cus I’m stuck, and I’m done wasting my days.
If I ever loved you, I’ll always love you.
That’s how I was raised.
I won’t say that I hate you, that’s too strong of a word
We just need to separate, ‘cus of everything that has occured.
Remember these real eyes realize your real lies,
So I’m done giving you chances, I’m letting my heart previse.
I want to wish you good luck for the rest of your days,
And for you to be grateful for my forgiveness for your ways.
If I ever loved you, I’ll always love you.
That’s how I was raised.

Over the past couple years, I've witnessed multiple friendships end due to inability to forgive one another. Personally, I believe that forgiveness is key to a strong friendship. I'm always willing to forgive my friends after they make mistakes. However, just this last year I lost one of my closest friends. I felt as if our friendship was going to last a lifetime, but she as she changed, our relationship changed. There were multiple points where she wronged me. At one point, I couldn't keep our friendship going, so I ended it. She may be feeling like I don't forgive her for her wrongdoings, but I do. I believe that it's not healthy to hold grudges, so I try not to.
