Driving down the highway

With four full seats

All is well,

And the good

Goes on

In the car full of laughter and love

And life

One day the four

Becomes three.

Something is missing,

But the good

Marches on

In the car full of laughter

And life

Much time passes on,

Like the people on their way,

And suddenly three

Becomes two.

We are deprived of something,

But the good

Trudges on

In the car full of

Life

The sting of the two

Missing seats never leaves.

When all is said and done,

The two

Becomes zero.

Everything is missing

But the good

Pretends to move on

In the car full of strife.

Driving down the byway

With four empty seats.

The loneliness stabs at him

Like a knife.

To the world the good

Carries on,

But the four empty seats

May become five

In the car full of strife.
