Rhythm is Nature
Thoughts swarmed around and
nestled inside her mind, frantically,
In search of relief from the dreaded
Noise, caused by mayhem.
She wanted to be at ease with herself,
Be able to breathe without holding her breath.
She craved crisp, clean air from the atmosphere,
hoping to fill her lungs with the oxygen
that she oh-so wished to feel.
With her eyes closed, she felt grass seep
Between the crevices of her toes, as she moved
like wind of dreams that brushed past her;
she escaped into an unknown world. She’s
free to move without restraints and dance
With the breezes that pass by.
The sun beats down on her brown skin,
Glistening in the natural light. Her complexion
Shines brighter than the sun, a ray of radiation,
Her energy incomparable to others.
Like weeds in a dewy field, she dare
Not leave any patch of ground untouched,
Her breath labors but matches with
The beating heart pounding against
Her chest in an urgent rhythm, like knocks
Against a door, chasing an exhilarant high.
Nothing can match this particular feeling.
Airy breaths relapse each other, just like
Dancing feet that chase after the other.
Her smile never leaves, eternal like an evergreen
As she moves from sea to sea, contagiously,
It spreads like a virus. She’s happy as
Long as she can be.

Anyone can be a dancer. Dance may be a profession, but nothing can hold back the movement of the body as it expresses one's true feelings.
