The Color Blue
The color you see for days when you go home,
The loneliness creeping upon you and him, wishing you could just stay a little longer.
The color of his eyes is all you see for days,
The same as the color of the walls and vases and picture frames that only remind you of him.
The color of the sheets that curl you up and make you reach for the other side of the bed.
The color of the sky that just perfectly matches his eyes.
The color of a sign on the street, and you’re sure you’ve just seen him, but no one’s there.
The color of the coffee mug you drink out of everyday, the same routine, the same empty feeling.
The color of the water as you take a road trip and feel a flutter in your chest.
It is not the color when you feel when you see him again.

Hi! I've been writing since I was a little kid and I have always loved poetry. I just want to share some of my work and hopefully improve upon it!
