The Grimy Job
They do a job that most of us forget has to be done.
A clean school is something we take for granted
since ours is always clean.
They’re in the bathrooms cleaning the counters
and refilling the soap dispensers.
They’re cleaning the floors and tables in the
cafeterias after lunch time.
They’re in the back cleaning the all of the dirty
plates and forks.
My appreciation for them is as great as the amount
of germs, they exterminate every day.
I get a taste of what it is like when I am told to
do the dishes.
And my gratitude grows stronger each time I have
to clean my bathroom.
