New Seasons Say,
Rain falls steep
Under clouds, under sun.
Feet stamp down,
Moving water as they run.
Light strikes bright.
In the air, thunder drums.
Showers dim,
Blue fissures this way come.
Sky goes clear,
Giving way to yellow.
Deep and rich,
Colors sweet and mellow.
Children laugh,
Warm air as they bellow.
Change is near,
New seasons say, “Hello.”
Flowers bloom,
Springtime is the season.
Beauty reigns,
Without rhyme or reason.
Snow turns soft,
Staying would be treason.
Orchids sway,
Welcoming the breeze in.

I wrote this poem earlier in the season for an English class and edited it for TeenInk. Spring is my favorite season and so it was an instant reaction to write about it.
