Was the sunshine ever permanent?
Were the grim clouds ever rare?
When did this everlasting season start,
And when does it end?
Must flames always burn out so quickly?
Can't scorched earth regrow just as fast?
Why have the scales been tipped so,
And how can a balance ever be found?
Is there anywhere the light can penetrate?
Will the dark ever be bearable?
Has anyone found the way,
and can they help to end the perpetual night?

It's raining again today. For some reason this spring I can never remember the good days when it's murky outside and I can only think of the impending rain when it's clear.
