The Winter Quest
The whispering winter wind
Swept through silent, snowy trees
The branches, they did bend
And the small pond would soon freeze
The snowflakes swiftly swirled
In the cold autumn breeze
The whole entire world
Was completely at ease
A bluebird seemed to spiral
Out of nowhere, it seemed
Shattering the denial
That everything’s serene
It landed slowly and softly
And gracefully tilted its head
Toward a house that smelled of toffee
And freshly baked bread
The little bird flew
Past the house and the trees
Through the sky, icy blue
Floating on the swirling breeze
Seeming satisfied with his quest
He snuggled down inside his nest
To lie in wait until the next
Shimmering winter’s day

I love winter and nature and both really applied to this piece.
