The Urge For Change
One pull of the trigger,
BAM,
a life gone in a blink.
Thousand of
murders this year alone,
Columbine, Sandy Hook, Stoneman Douglas.
How many children have to die before something
changes?
Martin Luther King Jr, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy.
How many heroes have to die before something
changes?
Blood spewing in the streets,
tears falling down cheeks like raindrops,
bodies slain across the ground.
How many times does this have to happen before something
changes?
Assault Rifle, Automatic Rifle, Shotgun, Submachine gun,
the list goes on and on.
Killing machines as easy to get as
1, 2, 3.
Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans,
all cities tarnished by pulls of a trigger.
How many cities have to be tarnished before something
changes?
Nicholas Dworet, Kimberly Vaughan, Cynthia Tisdale, Cassie Bernall.
Thousands more like these perfect souls
will be added to the list until something
CHANGES.
