Teddy Bear
Many nights she wakes up.
Tears flowing,
Pillow soaked.
Squeezing her teddy bear so tight.
“I can’t lose you!”
That’s all she can say.
She don’t want these thoughts
To one day become reality.
So why is she dreaming of such things?
Possibly since she seen it herself
How his health is slowly going extinct.
Multiple heart attacks,
He’s had a few right in front of her.
If he didn’t want her to see him like that,
He shouldn’t have waited until he was 35
To become her dad.
Maybe it has to do with where she grew up
And his anger issues.
Those normally don’t do so well together.
People’s been killed here for no reason before.
Imagine what would happen if there was a reason.
There's things they still gotta do together,
Unconditional love they’ll always share,
But one day the inevitable will happen.
She won’t cry so much.
Why should she?
She seen it happen already.
Thousands of times.
Hundreds of different ways.
She’ll only say,
“My teddy bear is gone’
