The princess walked up to the prince

And boom they kissed!

The kingdom celebrated

It was indeed a joyous day

It’s always like this in movies isn’t it

The perfect world

The perfect people

The perfect story

But, we are not meant to be perfect

One kiss can’t start a relationship

One kiss can not make you happily ever after

From girl to a teenager to a woman

The journey is not easy

From disney movies to twilight to The Notebook

You can see our world changing

You can see that it was not all dresses and tiaras

You can see that it was not all rainbows and cupcakes

You experience pain and sorrow

You experience rejection and judgment

But that just means that you get closer to more happy things

You might not get all rainbows and cupcakes but one cookie would do

You might not wear a tiara but you wear your confidence

And

Your prince might just be on his way riding his horse towards you.

Hey,

My name is Ikshaa and I am a 11th grade student who is really interested in poetry. I would love for people to see my poetry and relate.

I mostly try to cover teenage feelings and how to cope with them as it is always hard to change and my poems try to show you the positive way.
