Smile Baby
That’s what they want to see
What they want to believe
How you “should” be
Laugh baby
Don’t let pain seethe
Just allow your mind to dream
As hope drips down in beams
Pretend baby
It’s easier that way
No one has to pay
I’ll tell you what to say
Lie baby
Fabricate words from thin air
Act like you care
Play your part, do your share
Love baby
Allow your broken heart to feel
Act like fantasy is real
Don’t compromise, don’t deal
Live baby
Trust in tomorrow
Even if you must borrow
Energy from sad sorrow
It’s so simple; just smile baby
Why can’t you just be happy?
