It was years ago when I lost my mind
When my heart imploded
And the rust covered lining began to disintegrate into dust
It was years ago when I lost feeling in my limbs
When the haze of numbness set in
And vitality took flight into oblivion
It was years ago when I began merely existing
When my apathetic soul turned to stone
And on it I engraved my sorrows
It was years ago when the veil covered my face
When my body grew tired
And the world carried on moving without me
It was years ago when I lost my mind
