Alternated Curiosity
He is a mystery
arduous to solve,
walking the halls
and blending in like a shadow.
She is a ray of light
casting over the crowds
bringing joy to others
with showers of compliments.
Compliments to strangers
in the halls of her school.
But her brown eyes
always spare a second glance
at the mysterious shadow in the halls.
Curiously peeking
at the perplexing figure
that radiated sadness.
He lives in the dark
needing no one
to accompany his perilous self.
But to her,
danger only drew her in.
The treacherous rumors of him
that spread like a wildfire
only intrigued her more.
Until one day,
a bolt of assurance struck her;
enticing her
to compliment the broken soul
of her dreams.
The compliment
that was potentially negligible
impacted him
like no one has done before.
His entire demeanor
changed
by the gratifying girl
with bright brown eyes.
Entranced by her kindness.
A quality
he was so unfamiliar with.
Like a bright sun
dismissing a dark moon,
his sorrow dissolved,
quickly reciprocating into something
brighter and more desperate.
Desperate to learn more
about this ray of light.
Because she was like a book
he wanted to read.
And he was a mystery
she wanted to solve.
