Tears
Just you two
Alone in a room
The wooden chairs
The metal table
The dimmed lights
The half eaten Chinese food
The books neatly lined up on the shelf
You look around the room, trying to find something to distract yourself
From
Her tears
As the seemingly clear blood gushes from her eyes, you see her innocence part from her body
How on earth has the woman who you look up to the most
The one who has always stood towering over the rest of the world
Waxed into a cowering rabbit who has just seen their whole family taken from their eyes
What should you do
If your prince of a mother has lost a battle to the news of Hades, how do you still stand
Why are you not torn apart into thousands of jumbled pieces of what used to be human
Do you have no emotion
Do you have no soul
Your family
Best friend
Has just been taken hostage by the death bearing crustacean
And yet you sit there
Speechless
No words of comfort
No hug
Because you know it’s not going to be okay
Your desert of a face yearns for a day of rainfall
Even though the neighboring Amazon seems like hell on earth
With water
Comes life
But as you stare into the life filled eyes of your gutted mother
You know that there is no hope for you to truly live
