More Than You

March 13, 2019

Another nameless person

Known by just a few

Wants to stop their breathing

And decides to go through

When life's senses all fail

And all they feel is pain

They cry out from within

They feel nothing's to gain

Though life seems unforgiving

And your chances seem few

There is a point to living

And death hurts more than you

Don't ever say "it's time"

Or conceive the very thought

You can finish the climb

That many ones did not

When you feel there's no winning

Or feel that no one cares

You feel your love is thinning

You sink into despair

Remember life's a prize

People love you - they do!

And if you were to die

Then who then would be you?

Though life seems unforgiving

And your chances seem few

There is a point to living

Death hurts more than just you

The author's comments:

I've lost many friends to suicide... and I know there are many others out there who are suicidal. So, I wanted to express my feelings.

I hope that, if anyone reads this, they remember 2 things:

1. You're the only "You" in this world. Be proud of being you.

2. Death, especially suicide, hurts many many people.
