Little Brothers
My friends, I had not intended to discuss this controversial subject at this particular time. However, I want you to know that I do not shun controversy. On the contrary, I will take a stand on any issue at any time, regardless of how fraught with controversy it might be. You have asked me how I feel about little brothers. All right here is how I feel about little brothers:
If when you say little brothers you mean the incessant teasing, the ignorant boasting, the walking migraine, that invades all privacy, disregards rules, wrecks the house, generates rivalry and competition, yea, literally frames the innocent for his crimes; if you mean treacherous scheming that victimizes even the strongest of men and women, charming personality into the endless pit of humiliation, and pain and helplessness, and disappointment, then certainly I am against it.
But, if when you say little brother you mean the source of laughter, the unceasing kindness, the pillar of strength in hard times, that instills faith in my soul and love in my heart, and the eternal glow of trust in my eyes; if you mean spontaneous adventures; if you mean the overwhelming support that follows me into every aspect of life; if you mean a forever best friend that always elevates happiness, and joy, and to forget, if only for a little while, overwhelming stress, unbearable burdens, and heartbreak and worry; if you mean that sibling, the existence of which provides endless excitement even in mundane activities, which supplies limitless compassion and understanding to his loved ones, his siblings, his parents, his friends, his peers; to set an example of righteousness for the people who look up to him, then certainly I am for it.
This is my stand. I will not retreat from it. I will not compromise.
