What I Mean to You
Blood is red
Bruises are blue
I never knew i meant nothing to you
I never heard it in the way you talked
But I should have seen it in the way you walked
The way you walked was different
you see,
the way you walked was away from me
Not in your eyes, but in your heart
Like I was a target, you shot me with a dart
All this time
You didn't make any for me
All this light, it was so bright
And somehow you didn't see me?
But blood is red
Bruises are blue
Now i know I meant nothing to you

I wrote this poem when my best friend since kindergarten left me for a boy. I was very hurt, very sad about the whole situation. I didn't know how to function without her. But now its OK. I see that she's happy and thats all i ever wanted for her, even if it doesn't include me.
