My Dark Road
I’ve been down
An endlessly dark road,
Filled with many different paths,
None ever really ending.
Each of these paths
Led to a new nightmare.
No matter what I do
I never find a way out.
I have friends, family, and loved ones,
Who are always there for me,
Though it never seems to matter.
My demons are always there to haunt me through the night.
The nightmares never ended,
I’d wake up and It’d be morning,
But it felt like I had just lived out two weeks,
Endlessly traveling down that dark road.
When I try to explain,
My mind is simply over run.
By the darkness and the demons
I speak ever so fondly of.
I fall into a nightly deep sleep.
Wandering through an endless maze of thoughts.
So much on my mind,
As I wander endlessly down my dark road.
