I used to wonder what life would’ve been like free of the demons

Would I still have been so sad?

Would I still have cried myself to sleep?

Would living, still have been so painful?

When you’re a little girl,

You should be loved, hugged and cherished.

But when you’re a little girl,

You don’t have much say.

My mom seemed to love the men and drugs

More than her own blood

And dad?

Well, “dad” had a different name every week

I used to wonder what life would’ve been like free of the demons…

Today,

I invite my demons.

Because without demons,

I wouldn’t have been able to see the Angels.

My angel makes everything brighter, beautiful.
