A Voice in the Darkness
the feeling of looking at the night sky
filled to the edges with shining stars
surrounded by silence
going on endlessly,
it makes you forget
almost
people say
be yourself
but how can i
when i don’t know who i am.
how can i be unique when i was taught to act like everyone else?
how can i spark change when i’m afraid to stand out?
how can my words inspire when even i don’t believe myself?
how can we change the world without changing ourselves first?
maybe the moon and stars listen to you weep,
although they will never really know
the struggles of being human.
but it’s better than suffocating in loneliness.
