Milligan’s fur remains dark

Like ink leaving its mark

He’s small in size; yet is quite observant

Glancing upward as if fervent

For the slightest moments; food, outside

Treading through grass and bushes; open-eyed

Milligan’s friend Brownie gets afraid

Despite being a senior; his confidence fades

Tail wagging nervously; paws motioning back

Brownie cowers away; fear remaining intact

Like Brownie, Milligan lies down with his ears folded out like a bat

Panting and kicking his feet; flying, to be exact

Milligan’s eyes sparkle and gleam

Like seams

Of blazing, innocent light

Seeing the world as if all is right

His leaps through the hard ground; paws thumping

Determined to train on as a Seeing-Eye dog; confidence tugging
