My Old Friend Darkness
Hello my old friend, Darkness.
Tying my hands, leaving me armless.
Your eyes burn hot as hell
The touch of your skin as cold as ice
"All," you say, "is not well.
You must be made to pay the price."
All around I hear your loud whisper
Hating the way it makes my blood blister.
You creep around me and lie
Trying to convince me to give up and die.
Your words are quite mesmerizing
Piercing through me like a knife
But, forever with you I'm not ready to be
I must carry on, alone, in this lifeless life.
