Fear
Fear is when a fellow student open-fires on their classmates.
The color of red trails behind the students
Who were shot but managed to escape.
Screams echo.
Hearts shatter.
Where’s God?
Fear is huddling in a classroom corner,
Some silent, some crying, some silently crying.
Footsteps reflect down the hallway.
Some stand tall, ready for the fight.
Some cower, not ready to lose their life.
Where’s God?
Fear is ‘He’s found me.’
He looks her straight in the eyes and smiles.
She lets three tears stream down her face,
One for her mother, one for her father,
And the last for her baby brother.
“Hello, God.”

Gun control may be a controversial topic for some, but for others, it's a reality. Many students, including myself, face the fear of going to school and someone, whether they are a stranger or not, shooting the school up. But this time, I want others to hear from a student's point of view, and this is mine.
