Crowns of trees

brush

a purple-colored sky.


I stare in wonder

at it’s dusky,

cloudy curtain.


Night and day

cannot agree

behind that blanket.


Neither can I.

But by and by,

I wonder

at a purple sky.

Based off of a real life experience, “I Wonder at a Purple Sky” plays with similes, metaphors, and various other comparisons to bring out the poem’s nature qualities.
