Truly Elegant
If there’s any elegance in life
It’s the nuns praying to the almighty God,
hoping for salvation to the church triumphant
Where they spend eternal happiness with burning love
And the cry of the puppy begging for your warmth,
Yet the best one is you and your family's voices together,
Perfecting the art of filling the air with harmony and love
If there’s no elegance in life
There wouldn’t be an answer to your proposal
Not even the soul-warming whine that made you adopt the puppy
Nor the laugh of you and your family,
But there is elegance
And the elegance lasts
As long as you sing out hope

My name is Tri Dang, Tri pronounced like tree while Dang is said like normal. I was born in Vietnam and came to Houston when I was eight. Now, I started taking creative writing in middle school, I was assigned, like the other students, write a poem about elegance and this was it.
