"Good trees died so that you could write. Respect that."

Baby angiosperm sprouts

from a gap in the sidewalk.

Craning it’s enfeebled petals

It looks to the sky to scream

A mute benediction

Fear me, I am dandelion.

Dandelion craves pollen,

evolutionary triumph.

That crack in the sidewalk

widens in the August heat

swallows the angiosperm

and it’s silent hallelujah

Summer goes on.

I love this young author's use of zeugma, her rich imagery, and he efficient use of words to convey a beautiful picture. I raise a "silent hallelujah" for her talent."
