A Secret Place

I run up the hill out of breath
With my hands on my hips I peer down from my perch
The sound of nature fills my ears
I turn back around
Exploring the sanctury with my eyes
I stare in awe in the beautiful place I had stumbled upon
It appeared as a painting
Like I could reach my hand out and touch the canvas
And feel the texture of the paint beneath my fingers
The vibrant colors popping out of their hiding places
Making the snow a brighter shade of white
I lay down on a log and drift to sleep
The picture of this place planted in my mind.
