Love Like Snow
It settles on our hands like powder,
Too loose to stay put.
It melts through the broken sidewalk,
Unaware of its presence.
It freezes over the floor so thin,
We slip over it.
We let the flakes glaze over our cheeks.
It dusts onto our shoulders.
We store it inside our breath,
Secretly flowing out.
At supper we watch it build on our windowsill,
Wondering if it will last until the next sunlight.
