Loving Him Was Gold
she came into the night like a cold wind,
she thought of everything she had left behind,
because though the moon was shining yet so bright,
the stars in the dready night sky were not aligned.
loving him was gold,
but oh baby love was getting cold,
and her heart was growing old,
yet she no longer wished for his hands to hold,
for she had no rights to uphold,
for some feelings she couldn’t even have controlled,
words that are not yet said and untold,
her silence beginning to unfold,
but to love him, she was sold,
with everything she had to withhold,
loving him was always gold.
