Perspective of a Book

December 13, 2018
By Anonymous

In a dark room I sit

In quiet contemplation

Hundreds of my brothers

Lie beside me

All of us stuffed together on a shelf

Binded by one spine

Our innards white and thin

tattooed with black ink

We solemnly sit waiting

For a young scholar

To read the words painted upon our skin

The author's comments:

This poem was inspired by anglo-saxon poetry and riddles that I had once read in english class. I hope people who read this poem will get a small glimpse of a book's perspective.
