All is Quiet

Falling from heights unseen

Pink blossoms sink onto the forest ground

The foundation: a web of tangled roots,

Adorned with flowers

A robed figure carrying a bundle

Passes through tall diaphanous curtains,

That flow like a waterfall

From the raised arms of a towering marble woman

Embracing the air- tinted pink and sickly sweet-

Draped in a long, shapeless gown,

Yet upon her chill brow was an opulent crown

Hard eyes gazing upon her visitor,

Blank, yet challenging

Wariness marring her noble features

The trees whisper amongst themselves

The figure sets the bundle upon a crumbling pedestal

The petals halt their sluggish descent

All is quiet--
