Fading

Everything fading

Everything shimmering

Dancing in and out of sight as one closes or opens their eyes

One could only hope to grasp- But oh!

They leap out of reach

Out of touch

Out of sight

The senses could only grasp what was left

Nothing

Nothing was left as the glimmering shimmering fractures danced along with the temptation but only to grasp outward

Nothing!

Reach out with hope and nothing!

That grasp that closed, that hoped, that took a gasp in awe-

No!

Gone was that breath and hope

The fractures that shone so brightly but left just as beautifully causing an exasperated gasp for hope and redemption but no

Oh no

Shimmering

Glimmering

Dancing and leaping

Fleeting

Twirling in desperation

Left

Right

Nothing was right!

That last hope, that last twinkle!

The last life

Gone

So fast

Yet so slow

Gone

It came

It shined

It awed

It teased

Created hope

But no hope

For the light of it all was nothing more but an allusion of your own mind

An allusion you had created in a last fleeting attempt to see the light that you so desperately craved

It was gone

For it never was there

Open

Open your eyes

So you did

You saw the water

You knew

You took a breath

You took a step
