Nostalgia
A mind is a mirror maze
Reflections cradle us through
Past wishes toy with the glass
We giggle
In hopes that the old things will dissipate
Time never adjusts
Past never presents itself
We conform
A simple smell grips our hand through the twists and turns
It swaddles
Through tough times and good times to carry us through
This mirror maze reflects false senses of reality
The idols of our childhood
Fade into the reflections as we adapt with the time
A song can form a path home
A phrase, a regret
Yet we find this beautiful
We tend to dwell on the past
It is too simple when it stares back at you, yet
It’s healthy
It’s real.
Nostalgia.

I am a huge fan of the past. All of my hobbies and conversations find themselves built up by past experiences. Nostalgia is a large portion of my emotions and it is more common in our lives than we think it is.
