"and the salt in my wounds isn't burning anymore than it used to. It's not that I don't feel the pain. It's just I'm not afraid of hurting anymore. And the blood in these veins isn't pumping any less than it ever has and that's the hope I have, the only thing I know that's keeping me alive." - Paramore (Last Hope)

I was born losing air,

Already was my infant body rejecting life,

And the pain just grew and grew,

Pain as sharp as a knife,

Infants can never sleep,

To this day I still can’t,

Insomnia holds me in its arms,

My demons begin their rant,

Anxiety holds me close,

Comforting and never letting go,

It holds me as a mother would a scared child,

Even though its grip is so cold,

Depression whispers in my ear,

Sings the sweetest lullaby,

It stays with me and never leaves,

Chains my interests to the bed as I start to cry,

I scream, “Lord can you hear me?”,

I hold my hands close to my chest,

“Friend, are you still there?”,

My demons never let me rest,

I ran and I ran one night,

The fall air crisp and clean,

I woke up to a nightmare,

But it was not a dream,
