This Box
In this box
Lies the pictures
All black and white
Stained with faces
Unfamiliar to me.
Nobodies.
I wish I knew
The people stored away
In this box
I wish I knew
The tales behind their smiles,
The reasons behind their poses,
The lives they lived.
In this box
Stores faces of
My heritage,
My blood,
My family.
Their hard work
All summed to
Rectangular,
Monochrome papers
In this box.
But if we're not too careful,
If we don't record our lives,
Write our feelings out
If we glue to screens of light
For our all of our lives
One day
We too,
Will be nothing but
stains
on
Photograph paper,
In
this
box.
