Forgiveness
Our attempt was good, but not good enough,
Maybe it was my doing, maybe it was yours:
Maybe, just maybe we are both at fault.
Our mistakes were big but bearable,
Our bond was hard but worth it:
Maybe in my eyes, maybe not in yours.
Your decisions may not have been yours,
Your actions may have been influenced by something else:
Or maybe I didn’t do good; maybe, just maybe.
Oh how much of a fool I am,
To trust you, to believe in you, to have me live your lie:
You set a trap for me, and I fell right in.
But what is done is done, whatever happened happened,
We can only move on, we can’t look back:
But just because we cant look back doesn’t mean we can’t forgive.
After everything that happened, after all the hurt,
After all the struggle and after all pain:
I forgive you.
My empty shell has been filled with something more,
My torn wings have been sewn back together:
And all that was broken has been restored.
Now after all our foolishness, what say you?
Will you forever live without forgiveness?
Or will you forgive too?
