Sweeps the area

Killing

        Every

     Single

   Marine

  Animal.

In its path.

A baby turtle hatches from its egg

Poking its nose out

Smelling for danger

When the area is clear

It moves out of its shell on

The soft sand on the beach

Then makes a run for the ocean

Only to be stuck in a single-use plastic bag

Nearby seagulls spy

On the baby turtle

And sweep the baby turtle away

Along with the plastic bag

Not knowing he just ate

A substance that takes

Hundreds of years to digest

Single-use plastic is a bullet

Out of a barrel of a gun

produced at rates

of 150 million tons per year

Causing casualties of

millions of animals on

Earth

Single-use plastic contaminating

And choking our food source with

Materials that take centuries

To break down.

Single-use plastic

Is not the

Way to use

plastic correctly

The True Meaning of Family

In a life,

you could only have

one family,

a million friends,

and thousands of girlfriends.

Family is

Like

Receiving a heart.

It only happens

once in a lifetime.

Family is

The

center of love

and care.

After a big failure in school

Coming home with sweat

Of tiredness and eyes that

Speak for itself

Smells of failure sweep across

My face

With a single sight

My family saw what had happened

Through the eyes of failure

That something went wrong

They comforted me with

Words

         Of

Encouragement

What seems like a disaster

Turns into motivation to work

Harder!

We owe them

        An apology

        A thank you

        Respect

        Compassion

        Kindness

        Our life

Family is

Where

We spread love

And share the pain.

OUCH!

Family is

A river of healing

And, gently massaging

You with warm comforting words

Family is

Truly

Irreplaceable

And is truly

Magnificent.

In a life,

You could only have

One family,

A million friends,

And thousands of dating friends.

Family is like

Donating a heart.

It only happens

                       Once

                                In a lifetime.

Family is the

Center of love

And care.

Family is where

We spread love

And share the pain.

Family is truly

Irreplaceable

And is truly

Magnificent.

A Dog lost in the Blizzard

Two dogs

Tied to the fence

Two thieves took action

Taking away one dog

Leaving the other

Behind

Heavy winds closing in

Near our house like predators

Closing in on their prey

The blizzard approaches

Whoosh!

It clashed against a young boy

Tiny hands clenched into fists

Tears started falling

Many snowflakes dropped from the

Sky

Whoosh!

The blizzard kills

EVERYTHING!

In

  its

     path

The boy knew

There was no way

To get the dog back

It’s gone

FOREVER!

To the boy

Losing one

Of the two dogs

Is like losing

One of his

Lungs

Whoosh!

The blizzard slowly

Freezes everything

Causing depression

To choke the boy

There the boy stood,

His soul ripped from

The inside out

Knowing that

He

    Could

  Never

    Retrieve

His dog.

The blizzard then moved on

It took weeks for the boy

To fully recover from

The blizzard that hit him

That day,

But

He knew he has to move on.
