He Watches Through the Window
He watches through the window,
As shoppers shuffle inside.
They pick up pies and turkeys,
As His stomach growls outside.
He watches through the window,
As families feast inside.
They sing and pass gifts gladly,
As He sits alone outside.
He watches through the window,
As good friends curl up inside.
They warm their hands over a fire,
As He starts to freeze outside.
He watches through the window,
As the world revels inside.
They never remember Him,
As He spends Christmas outside.
He is not in a manger,
Or under a tree inside.
He is alone in the dark,
Hopefully watching outside.
